PEOPLE can sign up now for the return of a wild and wacky event that offers the chance to join in some knockout fun.

The fourth annual It’s A Knockout tournament sees teams from the community and businesses compete in a series of wet and wacky games in aid of Hartlepool & District Hospice.

It returns to Hartlepool Old Boys’ Rugby Club’s Mayfield Park ground, Easington Road, Hartlepool, on Saturday, July 11.

The event is one of the hospice’s biggest events in its fundraising calendar.

The games will be co-ordinated by Graham Fisher’s International It’s A Knockout who have been running such events for the last 25 years after starting out as a touring attraction with ex-BBC props in 1987. Much has changed since then with the development of new equipment and ideas but the fun of the competition remains as popular as ever.

It’s a Knockout is based on the 70’s TV series and organisers are looking for teams of between six and 10 people.

All team members must be over the age of 16 and in good health.

Teenagers aged between 14 and 16 can still take part provided you complete a parental consent form.

The games will start at around midday and run throughout the afternoon subject to numbers.

Entrants will be sent a full sponsorship pack with everything you need for the day after you have signed up.

Standard registration costs £10 per person based on a team of six to 10 members and team’s are encouraged to try to raise £500 in sponsorship.

For businesses the corporate registration fee is £600 per team which covers sponsorship although you can raise more if you choose.

There will also be a family fun day with stalls, attractions and children’s rides and refreshments.

The day is being sponsored by Seymour Civil Engineering. To register visit under Events.
