A MONTH of raising awareness of a stroke was started by the charity today.
The Stroke Association is launching Action on Stroke Month during May. It is all about getting people talking about the issue.
The idea, say charity chiefs, is to change the perception that a stroke is an inevitable part of old age and “just one of those things”.
But 2012 also marks 20 years of the Stroke Association, and the charity has a new brand to celebrate.
Rachel Bhageerutty, head of brand and internal communications, said: “With the new identity, we’ll have higher visibility and increased awareness.
“We want to be recognised as a major charity dealing with a major issue in the UK.”
