Are you in favour of camera cars to monitor how parents park on the school run?

Parents on the school run will be targeted by a £40,000 camera car in a council clampdown on illegal parkers.

Motor menaces snared will be slapped with a £70 fine.

Our reporter Dominic Shaw was given a sneak preview of the car and in a 10-minute trial, passing two schools at 3pm, 76 drivers were caught, which would have netted £5,320.

The school run will be targeted first by Hartlepool Borough Council transport chiefs in a bid to improve road safety in a move welcomed by headteachers and accident watchdogs.
