A CHURCH hall is set to be transformed into a Christmas shopping extravaganza.

St Patrick’s Church Hall, in Owton Manor Lane, Hartlepool, is hosting the event for ladies on Wednesday, December 5, between 7pm and 9pm.

Organisers have laid on a host of stalls selling all sorts of gifts for the festive season.

There will be cake stalls and stalls selling handbags, scarves, jewellery, cards, painted items and gifts and there will also be a tombola.

All of the proceeds raised from the shopping extravaganza will be going towards the church funds.

Ann Parkinson, a member of the church, said: “I would encourage ladies to come along to the shopping event.

“We have managed to organise between 18 to 20 stalls so there is plenty for people to come and have a look at. We held a similar event last year which was very successful and wanted to do one again this time round.

“It is something a little bit different from the traditional Christmas fair and we hope it will also help to encourage new people to come along and maybe get involved in the church.

“Everybody is looking forward to the night and it should be a lovely event.”

Admission is £3 and that includes mulled wine and mince pies.
