Ladybirds come up with a stylish way to raise funds
A group of Hartlepool friends have given a stylish boost of £683 to Hartlepool & District Hospice.
The Ladybirds, in conjunction with Matalan, held a fashion show on the Marina Retail Park and money was raised from ticket sales, a raffle and tombola.
The models included Ladybirds members, their relatives, and personal trainers from Lifestyle Fitness.
Entertainment came from local singer Ashley Tweddle who donated her fee in memory of her nana Mary Newcombe who was cared for in the hospice.
Marilyn Hamblett, from the Ladybirds, said: “It was a great night and as ever it was great to be able to raise such a fantastic amount for our local hospice. It is a vital local charity and we are all very proud to support the valuable work that they do. We will continue to raise funds for the hospice.”
Anna Campbell from Anna Campbell Hairdressing, did the makeover for two of the models, and Nicola Moreland from Forever Beautiful handled make-up.
Hospice official Janice Forbes praised the Ladybirds as “a great group of ladies who have been fundraising for the hospice since they formed in 2013” and thanked everyone who supported the show.
