TWO men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was slashed with a weapon in a violent street attack have today been released on bail.
The 25-year-old and 33-year-old town men were arrested following the attack on the 42-year-old man in Monkton Road, Owton Manor, Hartlepool, on Saturday.
Detectives from Hartlepool CID remanded the pair in custody and today released them on bail pending further inquiries.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police also made a fresh appeal for witnesses to the incident which happened at 4.15pm and which left the victim with leg injuries and needing treatment at James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
She said: “We need anyone who has any information about this incident to get in touch with the incident room at Hartlepool or anonymously on Crimestoppers.”
