THEY’RE a sharing lot at a Hartlepool firm.
And they showed it when staff at Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors handed out chocolates as part of its awareness week called Remember a Charity in your Will.
The event aims to increase awareness of the importance of charitable legacies. It also encourages more people to leave a gift to charity in their will.
The law firm handed out individually-wrapped chocolates, each with a message about leaving a legacy. They were handed out to clients and guests at their recent corporate golf day at Wynyard Golf Club.
Carolyn Tilly, who runs Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors’ wills and trusts department, said: “Seventy four per cent of the UK population supports charities. Almost half of those people would be happy to leave a charitable gift in their will once family and friends are provided for.
“But very few actually do. If just four percent more of us did, it would generate an extra £1 billion for UK charities every year.
“A will gives you the peace of mind that your loved ones will be provided for. It also gives you the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy which is the foundation of many good causes in the UK and you don’t need to leave a lot to make a substantial difference.”
