Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa reveals Middlesbrough threat ahead of table-topping clash

Marcelo Bielsa has revealed where he feels Middlesbrough's biggest threat will come from

Boro currently sit joint top of the Championship alongside Bielsa's side, with both teams having enjoyed an unbeaten start after being tipped as promotion favourites over the summer.

The pair are now preparing to lock horns on Friday evening, with Leeds boss Bielsa revealing where he expects Middlesbrough's main threat to come from.

And Bielsa's comments will perhaps come as no surprise, with the Argentinian believing that Boro's aerial presence will prove to be their main outlet - as has often been the case since Tony Pulis took over at the Riverside Stadium.

However, the Leeds chief believes that all the ingredients are in place for an entertaining game as the league's early pace-setters face off.

"The aerial game is a feature of the Premier League and it has a lot of influence," he said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

"So I guess we will see again this feature during the game on Friday.

"It's a team who represent one style of play.

"The head coach is a recognised one and an experienced one.

"We have a challenge with two teams who have the same number of points and occupy the same spot in the league. These are all the ingredients that add to the game."

With Leeds having several former Middlesbrough players in their ranks - including Adam Forshaw, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford - Bielsa may well call upon their knowledge in the build-up to the game.

"If it's necessary of course I will listen to their point of view but the style of Middlesbrough is well known because the head coach of them is a legend in English football." added the Leeds boss.

While Bielsa knows that Pulis' side will provide a stern test, he was reluctant to categorise the meeting as Leeds' toughest test so far.

"It's difficult to make comparisons," he admitted.

"When we played against Stoke or Swansea we had an opposition against us that was in the Premier League a few months ago.

"It's an important rival, it will be a difficult and tough game.

"But I don't want to put a classification between teams but for me the next game is always the most difficult one."
