Letter of the week: Thanks to Hartlepool Mail and its readers for a story with a happy ending
The happy ending story was featured (Mail, October 30).
Pools fan Mike Squires contacted me after the original appeal went out to try and find Darren – I had found the items when I was clearing out an old store in my Alma Street shop.

It was very much appreciated that Mike also called to my shop, then made arrangements with his contact in Sheffield and he was able to hand over the items that I had framed for Darren.
The memorabilia included Darren’s much-treasured Hartlepool strips worn during his four years here.
He was truly delighted to read all of the framed items featuring his playing days under Mick Tait and Chris Turner.

Hide AdThe Mail has so many years of history, and Darren was thrilled to look back and remember the good times that the paper has provided across many years.
Once again my sincere thanks to the Mail for getting me linked to Darren and making his day by providing him with loads of happy memories to cherish.
He has sent me a message stating how much he loved his Pools days.
He has also asked me to pass on his sincere best to the club and fans as we battle to return to league football as soon as possible.
