The retired Power Station worker has been a regular in the Cyril Knowles Stand ever since the Rink End was given over to away supporters.

Pools boss Craig Hignett was on-hand to thank him for his ongoing support.

“I’ve been coming to Pools as regularly as I can since the 1940s,” he explained.

“I played football myself in the Church League so got to know quite a few of the Pools players through that over the years; the likes of Terry and Peter McGregor and Berry Brown.

“Ken Johnson was also a very good friend of mine and obviously a fantastic player for the Club but I would say Eric Wildon was my favourite-ever Pools forward.”

Mr Swinbourne is confident Pools can be competing at the other end of the League Two table next season - if Hignett can get some positive work done on the transfer front during the summer.

“I’ve been impressed with what I have seen from the new manager so far but now you just have to wait and see what work he can get done over the close season.

“I would love us to be able to keep Adam Jackson and Jake Gray because they did well during their loan spells but we’ve got plenty of good lads in the squad so I’m hopeful for 2016/17.”

Season Ticket prices have been frozen for the new campaign and fans have until Friday 1st July to take advantage of the Early Bird rates.

The Club has invested in brand new technology for next term, meaning that Season Ticket books will be replaced by Season Ticket Cards which feature unique barcodes for entry to The Vic.
