Man arrested for failing to stop after crash in Hartlepool
Police have arrested a man after a two-car crash in Hartlepool.
Officers were called to a report of a collision on the junction of Hart Lane and Jesmond Road at about 7.50pm last night, between a 4x4 vehicle (believed to be Mitsubishi) and a taxi.
The 24-year-old driver of the 4x4, which was flipped onto its side, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after the road accident and currently remains in custody.
A police cordon was thrown around the area while investigations were carried out, before roads were reopened just over two hours later.
