A REVELLER needed hospital treatment for several stab wounds after being attacked when he got out of a taxi.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault that they believe involved broken bottles being used as weapons.
The 21-year-old victim is said to have been returning from a night out with friends at 2am on Saturday, June 18, when he got involved in a verbal row with a group of men in Kimberley Street, Hartlepool.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “He was then attacked by a group of men and suffered several puncture wounds, believed to be from broken bottles.
“The men then ran off towards the Burn Valley area.”
Three men, aged 21, 22 and 24, were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the attack is asked to contact Detective Constable Jason Mactaggart, of Hartlepool CID, on (01642) 302178 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
