Man hit by minibus in Hartlepool being treated for serious injuries

A MAN who was struck by a minibus has been described as being in a “stable” condition in hospital.

The 24-year-old suffered serious head, chest and pelvic injuries after being hit by the car in Stockton Road, Hartlepool, at 12.30am on Saturday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene, and he was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, in a critical condition.

A t the time the Mail went to press a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “He is in a stable condition and remains in the James Cook University Hospital.”

Stockton Road was closed for several hours after the incident at 12.30am on Saturday, while police carried out investigations.
