RUSH hour traffic was disrupted after a two-car collision on a busy road.
A man was taken to hospital after the smash involving a Peugeot 207 and a Vauxhall van.
The incident happened on the A179 near Hart Village on the outskirts of Hartlepool just after 4pm yesterday.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the driver of the van was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.
He had suffered suffered minor injuries in the incident and was released from hospital after a routine check up.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We received a call reporting a road traffic accident at around 4.05pm.
“We attended and the driver of the Vauxhall van involved in the accident had to be taken to hospital for a check up.”
The road was cleared after the accident by 5pm.
