Man remains in hospital after serious incident in Hartlepool

A man remains in hospital today after being found with serious head injuries.

The 56-year-old victim was taken to hospital after being found at an address in Rydal Street, Hartlepool, at 10.43pm on Friday.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough,where he is in a critical condition.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 32-year-old woman on suspicion of assault,

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “The man found with serious head injuries remains critical in hospital.

“The man and woman arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further inquires.”

Officers believe the attack may be linked to an earlier incident at an address in St Oswald’s Street, Hartlepool, at 8.33pm on Friday.
