Man taken to hospital following collision on busy Hartlepool road

A MAN was taken to hospital after a crash on a busy dual carriageway.

Police and paramedics were called to Easington Road, in Hartlepool, to a report of a collision involving one car outside the TA Centre.

Police had to close the road and traffic was backed up along the roads nearby, including Raby Road and Winterbottom Avenue.

The incident was reported at 3.54pm on Monday and an ambulance arrived at 3.56pm.

A North East Ambulance spokeswoman said: “This was a road traffic collision involving two people.
“One female did not need any treatment, but the male was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.”

No details were available of the man’s condition.
