ADORABLE youngsters had a day to remember and enjoyed their very own masquerade ball.

Youngsters at Kiddikins Nursery, in Hindpool Close, on Hartlepool’s Central Estate, got dressed up for the occasion and pulled on their specially masks.

Staff asked children what they wanted to do as a special occasion and they said they wanted their very own party.

And that is exactly what the staff organised for them.

They put together party bags complete with half-coated love heart biscuits, sweets and other items.

To mark Valentine’s Day staff made the effort to also give the children a card which they could then hand over to their loved ones.

Amy Hanley, a nurse at the nursery, which is based in Hindpool Children’s Centre, said: “The place to start for us was asking the children what they wanted and their answer was a party.

“We are always looking to bring some fun to the nursery and this was no exception.

“But this time we wanted to do something a little bit different so we decided to turn the party into a ball and as some of the children wanted to make masks and crowns our ball soon became a masquerade ball.”

Amy said staff were delighted to see children with smiles on their faces throughout the day.

They also got the chance to show off their creative skills by making their own masks and crowns.

She added: “We had lots of fun and enjoyment making things for the ball.

“The children absolutely loved it, it was fantastic.

“It was also important to get the message across that it is nice to show you care and appreciate the important people in your life.”
