Men in hospital after attacks

TWO men are in hospital following separate attacks this morning.

A 25-year-old man is being treated in James Cook University Hospital, in Middlebrough, after an assault in Hartlepool’s Balmoral Road.

The man is said to have suffered head injuries in the incident, which happened shortly after midnight.

Two people have already been arrested in connection with the attack.

A man was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace and a woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

In a separate incident in the early hours, an 18-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a chest injury after being assaulted.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after the incident, in Norfolk Close, in Hartlepool at around 3am.

Inquiries are ongoing for both incidents and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
