Mid-morning robbery bid

A MAN was left shaken after yobs tried to mug him in the street.

Police say two teenagers approached the 20-year-old man in Eleventh Street, in Horden, and attacked him before demanding money.

A Durham Police spokesman said: “They started attacking him and the allegation is that they were shouting and demanding ‘give us your money’.

“The victim managed to bang on the window of a nearby house and this made the suspects run away.”

The man was left with facial injuries, which were treated by paramedics. It is not thought he needed hospital treatment.

The suspects are described as males, aged around 18, both with blonde hair.

One was around 6ft-tall and the other 5ft 6in tall.

The incident happened around 11am on Saturday.
