Tony Pulis' side have already confirmed friendlies against Sturm Graz, Spennymoor, Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Hartlepool - with all of these friendlies taking place away from home.

But now, Boro have unveiled their first home pre-season friendly as they welcome Jack Ross' Sunderland to Teesside.

The Black Cats will make the trip to the Riverside Stadium on Friday, July 27 in a 7:30pm kick-off.

This fixture will be Boro's only home pre-season outing with the Championship season scheduled to start the following weekend.

Ticket details will be announced in due course.

The two sides met three times last season, with Middlesbrough claiming two victories prior to an entertaining 3-3 draw in February.

July 5 (6pm) - Sturm Graz (A)

July 10 (7:45pm) - Spennymoor Town (A)

July 21 (3pm) - Accrington Stanley (A)

July 24 (7:30pm) - Rochdale (A)

July 27 (7:30pm) - Sunderland (H)

July 28 (1pm) - Hartlepool United (A)
