The former Chelsea youngster is thought to be interesting Championship rivals Leeds United, who themselves are keen to add a striker before the window slams shut.

And having missed out on a move for Derby County striker Matej Vydra after his wage demands proved a stumbling block, the Whites are set to turn their attentions to Bamford.

MORE: Middlesbrough remain interested in £10m strikerReports in the Yorkshire Evening Post suggest that the 24-year-old is interesting Marco Bielsa, who is looking for new signings with only a fortnight of the transfer window remaining.

Nottingham Forest were also interested earlier this summer, but their interest is thought to have cooled since they signed Lewis Grabban.

MORE: Boro could see TWO key players leave in this transfer windowBut according to the Teesside Gazette, reports have suggested that Boro value the 24-year-old at somewhere around £16m.

Such a fee could prove off-putting to plenty of Championship clubs, and serves to highlight the importance that the striker holds to Tony Pulis' squad.

Boro are in no rush, nor do they have any need, to sell Bamford, and such an asking price may deter any circling rivals.
