Police had been appealing for information to find the 25-year-old, who went missing from Hartlepool.
He had last been seen yesterday morning in Newcastle.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “Missing Shaun Bate has been found near to Newcastle Central Station. He is safe and well, thank you for your help.”
