POLICE searching for a missing man have confirmed that he has been seen recently in a Merseyside supermarket.

Officers launched a missing person probe after concerns grew over Eric Harding, 57, who had been last seen getting on a bus near his home in Hart Village, Hartlepool, on Monday, April 4.

Eric (left) was spotted at a store in Stoneycroft, on Merseyside, at about 7.15pm on Thursday. The sighting was confirmed by investigators who checked footage from security cameras.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Although this sighting means Eric has been seen safe and well through images, he still needs to be seen in person by a police officer from any force before the investigation can end.”

Cleveland officers are now working with Merseyside Police to try to track him down.

They are urging Eric to visit a police station or make himself known to a police officer so he is no longer classed as a missing person.
