Monkey Mayhem has come to Hartlepool this half-term with free activities and entertainment for children and adults.
There is a fun-packed monkey trail which requires visitors to find hidden monkeys in the centre for a chance to win voucher prizes.
There is also the opportunity to meet Chalkie the Chimp – an animatronic furry friend of the centre, who talks, drives and has a cheeky sense of humour – as you can see from our video.
Chalkie will be making an appearance until Thursday at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
Customers are also invited to the Jungle Creation Station on Friday and Saturday where they can enjoy making tree-mendous monkey art.
The work will then form part of a display in the shopping centre.
“Half-term is always a great opportunity for families to spend time together and as a hub for the local community we’re keen to offer plenty of holiday action for our shoppers and their own little monkeys,” said Mark Rycraft, centre manager at Middleton Grange.
“Chalkie the Chimp will, no doubt, be a big hit as he’s quite a character.
“It’ll also be a wonderful opportunity for Hartlepool to put its creative flair to the test as we’ll be showcasing some of the art in the centre.
“There will be so much to keep everyone occupied making it a top day out for all the family.”
All of the Monkey Mayhem activities are free-of-charge.
