John Terry has sent his wishes to Bradley Lowery.

An Everton fan suggested cards be sent to the five-year-old from Blackhall in the wake of the news that doctors had found his cancer had spread.

The schoolboy first beat neuroblastoma in 2013, but checks discovered it had returned in July.

The Sunderland fan has been undergoing tough treatment through Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary and his parents have decided he will be given oral chemotherapy in the run up to Christmas, with antibody and chemotherapy to be used in the New Year to give them as much time as possible with him.

Tonight, from 8pm to 10pm, a candle light vigil will be held for Bradley, with people encouraged to share their photos via the hashtags #hopeforbradley and #bradleysfight.
