STORE staff have enjoyed backing a hospice so much, they’re planning to raise even more money.

Staff at Sainsbury’s in Seaton Carew unanimously chose to support Hartlepool & District Hospice last year and are set to do it again.

Store manager Neil Duckling, who visited the Hospice at the start of the partnership, said: “A few of our customers have benefited from the work the Hospice does and they felt it was nice to repay the work they do. It was also great to raise funds for a local charity rather than a national one.”

Hospice corporate fundraiser, Carol Sennett, said: “I have enjoyed my many visits to Sainsbury’s, especially when they had the visit of the Paralympic torch to the store last August and I was invited along to help with their fundraising for the Hospice.

“The Seaton Carew staff are fantastic ambassadors, not only for Sainsbury’s but also for Hartlepool & District Hospice and a lovely team of people to work with. I am really looking forward to supporting them with their fundraising throughout the year.”
