Mum Chloe Vickers officially opened a new family-friendly fashion store yesterday.

Pep&Co held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to herald its arrival to Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.

Chloe, of Owton Manor, Hartlepool, performed the opening honours along with her 16-month-old son McKenzie after the store ran a competition.

Pep&Co, which also sells home goods, has taken over the unit previously occupied by Clintons card shop, which moved into another location in the shopping centre.

It is one of 50 branches opening across the UK as part of a £20million investment.

Welcoming their arrival, Middleton Grange manager Mark Rycraft said: “Pep&Co have a fantastic offer for our shoppers and we wish them every success as they embark on their ambitious plans.”

Twelve jobs have been created at the Hartlepool branch.

Pep&Co managing director Adrian Mountford said: “I’m excited to be bringing Pep&Co here to Hartlepool.

“And because we’ll be offering amazing value on family fashion, I know we’ll play our part in helping the town centre thrive.”
