Motorbike rider airlifted to hospital

A MOTORCYCLIST from Hartlepool was flown to hospital after suffering serious injuries in an accident in Northumberland.

The 56-year-old man suffered chest, spine, abdominal and arm injuries.

The Great North Air Ambulance responded to the stricken rider who came off his bike at about 6pm on Wednesday in the Simonburn area of Northumberland,

He was flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary where he is said to be in a stable condition.
