Motorists avoid injury in Hartlepool smash

TWO motorists were lucky to avoid injury after a road smash.

Police were called after the incident, in Stockton Road at the junction with Brierton Lane, Hartlepool, at around 10.35am on Thursday.

A blue Vauxhall Vectra taxi and beige Toyota Yaris collided although fortunately neither driver was hurt in the smash.

Police stayed at the scene to clear debris off the road but the road wasn’t closed.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We got a call at 10.35am and two vehicles were blocking the road after a crash.

“Nobody was injured.”
