MOTORISTS are warned to add extra time to their journeys during a series of roadworks in the next week in the Billingham and Wolviston areas.

Temporary lights will continue to slow up traffic on the Seaton Carew Road around Greatham Creek.

It is while the Environment Agency carry out permanent sea defence works to repair the damage done by the winter’s storms and floods.

The traffic lights are due to be in place until April or May.

Elsewhere in Billingham, Wolviston Road will see phased temporary road closures from Station Road to Roseberry Road this week.

It is so Stockton Borough Council and contractors can carry out essential resurfacing works.

The closures will be in place between 7pm until around midnight from Monday until Saturday.

Temporary lane closures will also be in place on Wolviston Road between the King Arms Pub and Wolviston village while a new pedestrian crossing is installed .

Temporary lane closures will also be in place off-peak between the A689 roundabout and the 30mph gateway this week.
