Museum displays its finest

A MUSEUM is putting some of its collection of portraits on show in an exhibition which comes to an art gallery next month.

Formal portraits of prominent Hartlepool people such as Sir William Gray and John Cameron will make up part of the display at the Hartlepool Art Gallery.

It is called In Thy Face I See and also includes studies of the faces of people, such as Lucien Freud's Head of a Woman, and Giant Head – Ben by Nahem Shoa.

Artists such as Eric Atkinson and John Bratby will also have their work on display.

The exhibition shows work from Hartlepool's museum collections and starts on Saturday, April 3.

It runs until Saturday, May 29, and anyone wanting more details should contact (01429) 869706.
