Nearly 200 homes hit by power cut in Hartlepool

Nearly two hundred homes have been left without electricity for hours after a power cut struck Hartlepool.

A fault on the electricity network affected 170 properties in the TS26 postal code this morning.

The power cut was reported at 9.10am this morning.

While power is believed to have been restored in some homes, Northern Powergrid said it is still working to fix the issue.

A statement on the Northern Powergrid website said: “Our team are working hard to restore power as quickly as possible

The power cut affecting properties has been caused by a problem on the electricity network that supplies the area.
