A new director has been appointed to handle child and adult services in Hartlepool.
Sally Robinson, 47, has been the council’s assistant director (children’s services) since 2008 when she began working for the authority.
She will take up her post in a week’s time which is when the current director, Gill Alexander, takes over in her new role as chief executive following the retirement of Dave Stubbs.
Her new role will see her take overall responsibility for the council’s schools, children’s services and adult social services.
She said: “I thoroughly enjoy working in Hartlepool and I am delighted to have been given this important role and the opportunity to work with so many skilled and talented colleagues.”
Coun Chris Simmons, who chaired the Council’s Appointments Panel, added: “Sally has been an excellent officer in her current post and has a wealth of experience.
“We expect that she will be equally successful in her new role and we look forward to continuing to work with her.
