Up to 40 full and part-time jobs could be created with the creation of new shop units at Wynyard Business Park.

Full planning permission has been granted for four new units, which will serve more than 2,000 office workers at the park, 1,500 households in the nearby Wynyard Park housing development, and 9,000 people who live within five minutes’ drive, as well as trade from 70,000 cars using the A689 and A19 daily.

The new units represent an excellent opportunity for a wide range of retailers, local service providers and restaurant, coffee shop and quality takeaway operators, located at the entrance to a busy and prestigious business park, close to the growing and highly sought after residential developments at Wynyard Park and one of the busiest trunk roads in the North East in the A19.

Owner Northumberland Estates has appointed Leeds-based specialist retail property consultants Barker Proudlove to market the new units.

Mark Proudlove, of Barker Proudlove, says: “The new units represent an excellent opportunity for a wide range of retailers, local service providers and restaurant, coffee shop and quality takeaway operators, located at the entrance to a busy and prestigious business park, close to the growing and highly sought after residential developments at Wynyard Park and one of the busiest trunk roads in the North East in the A19.

“The size of the units, from 900 sq ft to 3,600 sq ft, is flexible and can accommodate specific requirements.”

Guy Munden, Development Planner at Northumberland Estates, added: “This development will be a benefit to the local economy and create new jobs for local people.

“It is another key part of the investment and development programme Northumberland Estates has instigated since its purchase of the park.”
