Nicky Featherstone sets sights on Pools ending Victoria Park losing run

Pools have lost their last two on home turf, both against sides in the bottom four of the division.

And while this evening’s visitors are likely to provide a much sterner test than Guiseley and Solihull, midfielder Featherstone knows Pools are keen give the home fans something to cheer about.

“There’s been a couple of frustrating home performances when we’ve not really been at it, but I think we responded on Saturday, the commitment was there for everyone to see,” said the 29-year-old following his side’s 1-1 draw at promotion-chasing Sutton United.

“I don’t think there was much in the Solihull and Guiseley games but we just didn’t feel right.

“Hopefully we can put it to bed on Tuesday against Leyton Orient and there’s no reason why we can’t.”

Reflecting back on the Gander Green Lane result, Featherstone thinks Pools were so close to nicking it, but for a mis-placed pass or two.

“There were a few half-chances or opportunities if the ball had been better,” he said.

“I could have got Rhys (Oates) in if I had played a better pass.

Featherstone added: “Woking only have two games left so one win from our last three matches will be good enough.”
