There’s many ways to have a great time close to home, and here are some examples from down the years.

Some of you have grabbed the chance to sign up for the great Hartlepool Council-organised events such as the fun library sessions, including the excellent annual reading challenge from nine years ago.

Others have enjoyed some of the wonderful activities to be found at Summerhill, such as this den-building day.

And then there’s the chance to browse round the seafront shops at Seaton Carew, as pictured here in 2009.
