A nostalgic look at happy holiday fun in the sun in Hartlepool

This lot had great fun at the annual summertime reading challenge in Hartlepool's libraries. Have you taken part and what are your memories of it all?

There’s many ways to have a great time close to home, and here are some examples from down the years.

Some of you have grabbed the chance to sign up for the great Hartlepool Council-organised events such as the fun library sessions, including the excellent annual reading challenge from nine years ago.

And then there’s the chance to browse round the seafront shops at Seaton Carew, as pictured here in 2009.
