Young children at a Hartlepool nursery celebrated moving on to the next stage of their young lives in style with a graduation ceremony.
Around 30 youngsters at Kidz Village in Throston Grange Lane wore gowns and home-made mortar board hats to mark the occasion.
Each child took it in turn to go up on stage to be presented with a scroll and certificate.
Nursery manager Roz Darlington said: “We just wanted to celebrate our little people’s achievements.
“We had a graduation to say goodbye to the children who have been with us for quite a long time.
“They looked absolutely awesome and were delighted and felt very important and also very excited.
“They are all moving on to the next stage in their little lives.”
A colourful backdrop was produced specially for the occasion of a rainbow and the youngsters’ handprints.
Parents joined in the fun occasion as staff laid on a buffet and bouncy castle for the kids.
Each child also received a gift bag.
The graduation event is one of a number of new ideas introduced by the nursery after taking over the premises in December.
Roz added: “We have been doing lots of gorgeous things with the children.
“Myself and Nikesha the owner want to say a massive thank you to all our fabulous staff for their hard work.”
