The crew from Stranton Fire Station were called to the home at 1.30am after paramedics called for help.

The middle aged man had fallen at the bottom of the stairs in his house and was unable to get up.

The officers helped get the man up and put him on to a stretcher.

Although he was not injured, he was taken to hospital.

The fire service declined to say where they were called out to or the man's age.
