A town charity is hosting an exciting three-day event of open air cinema.

Hartlepool Families First, based at Cafe One77, in York Road, has organised an exciting line-up of outdoor screenings next weekend at West Hartlepool Rugby Club, in Catcote Road.

The schedule starts on Friday, June 26, with a showing of the ever-popular Dirty Dancing starring the late actor Patrick Swayze.

Gates will open at 6.30pm for an 8pm start.

There will be an on-site bar, with food available as well, and a live DJ will also play some tunes.

Tickets cost £10 and all proceeds will be donated to Hartlepool Families First.

The following day, on Saturday, June 27, there will be an event for the children of the town with an open-air cinema screening of Big Hero 6.

People are welcome onto the site from noon, with the film starting at 2pm.

There will be a mini fair for the youngsters to enjoy as well. Tickets cost £10 for adults, £2.50 under 16s, or £20 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).

That evening there will be an open-air screening and singalong of Take That, The Progress Tour.

Gates open at 6.30pm for an 8pm start.

Tickets for this event cost £10, with under 16s £2.50.

Then on Sunday, June 28, the event schedule will wrap up with a Disney kids’ film called Tangled.

The site will again open at midday, with a start time of around 2pm, with tickets priced £10 for adults, £2.50 for kids, and £20 for a family pass.

Anyone attending the charity events are welcome to dress up as their favourite characters.

Members of the public can also bring their own refreshments and picnics – but no barbecues – and there will also be a number of outlets selling food, drinks and a licenced bar.

For tickets ring (01429) 867016.

Organisers say the event could be cancelled if there is heavy rain.
