OUTDOOR theatre is coming to Hartlepool.
Beatrix Potter’s finest tales and the work of Shakespeare will be performed at Summerhill country park next summer, leisure chiefs have announced.
Quantum Theatre, which specialises in shows based around science and numeracy, is the company behind the two productions which are both planned on Monday, July 23.
The first show at 2pm is called The Tales of Beatrix Potter: Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny.
It follows the take Peter Rabbit who cannot resist the temptation of going into Mr McGregor’s garden.
Organisers say the show will use live music and is suitable for adults and children alike.
Tickets cost £12 for adults and £7 for children.
The second show will be at 7pm and is a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Organisers say this show is a fast-paced interactive version of one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies with tickets at £12 for adults and £7 for children.
Before then, the country park’s visitor centre is the place to be for anyone wanting to enjoy art.
The centre is one of four venues around Hartlepool which has launched exhibitions to promote rising artists.
The Summerhill gallery is called Emerge@Summerhill and its first exhibition runs until Saturday, January 5.
