RESIDENTS and supermaket stuff enjoyed the unique chance to hold a Paralympic torch.

The torch was brought to the Sainsbury’s Middle Warren Store, in Mulberry Rise on Saturday, where customers had the opportunity to pose for a photograph.

The event was organised as part of a celebration day as the Sainsbury’s Nectar card reached its 10th anniversary.

With Sainsbury’s being the official sponsor of the recent Paralympic Games, in London, staff were delighted to discover a torch was going to brought to the store.

David Clark, PR ambassador in the town store, said: “It was a unique chance for the public and staff to get a photo with a Paralympic torch.

“It was something a little bit different and a good experience for everyone who came along.”
