DOZENS of excited youngsters were able to enjoy an annual Christmas party thanks to a generous donation from a Hartlepool business.
MKM Building Supplies, in the town’s Burn Road, donated £500 to the Hartlepool People’s Centre, in Raby Road, for their Christmas bash for children who attend the centre.
The party, which is made possible thanks to generous donations from firms like MKM, was held at the Town Hall Theatre, in Swainson Street.
It saw 100 children enjoy games and refreshments, with each child going home with a present and a selection box.
Mr Geo Magic and Santa’s little helper was on hand to entertain the children and there was also a raffle and refreshments for parents.
Lin Craddy, project manager at Hartlepool Peoples Centre, said: “The staff at MKM are fantastic and, thanks to their donation, and support from elsewhere in the town, we manage to put on the Christmas party.
“It has been running for the past 20 years and it is for children from across the town.”
Mick Sumpter, director at MKM Building Supplies, said: “We are very pleased to be able to donate the money.
“It is something that we have done for the last five years.
“It is important that local businesses help and support causes like this and we are no different to others.
“This is a good cause and it gives children the chance to go to a Christmas party and receive a present.
“We are very pleased to support the party again this year.”
