PATRIOTIC Hugo is barking out his support for Roy’s Boys in Brazil.

The lovable Labrador with a liking for some real ale when his owner Fishermans Arms landlord Steve Bell allows is helping to drum up some dogged support for the Three Lions at the World Cup.

The pooch is much-loved by all of the locals at the award-winning pub on the Headland and with just a week to go before the big kick off Steve dressed Hugo up for the occasion as part of our Pedigree Chums campaign.

Now we want you to do exactly the same as World Cup fever swings in Hartlepool and East Durham and send us your photographs of your dog getting involved in the excitement.

Steve, 51, who runs the pub with his partner Mandy Jackson, a mum of Emily Whitehead, 15, said: “We’re all behind England here in the pub, even Hugo!”

“Hopefully the next time we allow him to have a sip of beer will be to celebrate England’s success at the World Cup.”

To get involved in the feature, and show your support for England, send your pictures to or send them through the post to World Cup Dogs, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS248BX.
