Drivers warned of overnight road closure after car crashes into Telegraph Pole

Drivers are being warned that a diversion is in place after a car crashed into a Telegraph Pole.

Police were called to the collision on Thorntree Gill in Peterlee at 1.15pm on Wednesday, December 11.

Thankfully there have been no reported injuries, but drivers are being warned that the road is closed from the junction with the Coast Road (B1086 ) while urgent repairs are carried out on the Telegraph Pole.

Durham Constabulary are asking drivers to follow the diversion via Yoden Way and Eastfield.

A Durham Constabulary spokeswoman said: “Police were called to Thorntree Gill in Peterlee at 1.15pm after a car crashed into a Telegraph Pole.

“Wires on the Telegraph Pole have been damaged and the road has been closed overnight so that the Telegraph Pole can be repaired.”
