Man hit by car in Hartlepool street rushed to hospital with head injury

A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in the early hours of Sunday morning has been taken to hospital.

North East Ambulance Service were called to Lucan Street, off York Road, shortly after 4.15am on Sunday, December 1, to reports a man was unconscious after being hit by a car.

Paramedics and a doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance attended the scene and the man was taken to the University of Hospital of North Tees in Stockton.

A ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision in Lucan Street involving a pedestrian and a car shortly after 4.15am this morning.

“We received reports a male patient was unconscious and had suffered a head injury.

“We sent a double crewed ambulance and a doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance who attended by road.

“The patient was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.”
