Around 3,100 Pools supporters attended the match at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate Stadium, which ended in euphoric scenes as Pools were promoted after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win.

Avon and Somerset Police said just three people were ejected from the Hartlepool section during the game with inquiries continuing into the incidents. One person from the Torquay end was thrown out.
