See the full route for Hartlepool United's open-top bus parade - but people urged to stay safe against Covid
Council officials have confirmed the route for Hartlepool United’s bus parade to celebrate the club’s promotion back to the Football League.
Fans and residents are invited to come out of their homes and cheer the team during the procession on Friday, June 25, which will start in Seaton Carew and end at the Fens.
To avoid large crowds gathering it will not go past Victoria Park football ground and anyone with Covid-19 symptoms or is self-isolating is told not to attend.
Players will show off the play-off final trophy won in dramatic fashion on Sunday against Torquay United after extra time and penalties in Bristol.
Council leader Councillor Shane Moore said: “It’s absolutely fantastic to see Pools back in the Football League and I hope residents will welcome the opportunity to safely show their support and appreciation.”
Hartlepool United Chairman Raj Singh added: “We’re really grateful to get this opportunity to say thank you to our fans and I’d encourage residents to enjoy the event safely and remember to maintain good social distance at all times.”
People watching the parade are asked to do so from as close to their home as possible and are reminded of the importance of keeping a safe distance from others at all times. Face coverings are also strongly encouraged.
Inspector Danny Trippett, from Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We know how proud local people are of the team and would just ask that when celebrating people follow all the Covid safety guidance and do it sensibly.”
