An 18-year-old man remains in hospital after being hit by a car in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the crash on Owton Manor Lane, in Hartlepool, which has left a teenager in hospital.

The 18-year-old pedestrian was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he currently remains receiving treatment for a broken leg.

Officers investigating the collision are also trying to determine whether the teenager was in collision with a second vehicle.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV of the incident is asked to contact PC Martin Tranmer via the non-emergency number 101, quoting the event number 217822.”
