Utility Alliance speaks of pride in town as it backs the Best of Hartlepool Awards once again
A major utilities company has spoken of its pride in Hartlepool as it comes on board as the headline sponsor of the Mail’s annual awards.
Utility Alliance, which was founded in the town in 2015, is recognised as one of the fastest-growing companies within the utilities sector, with a team of more than 400 staff.
The business has its headquarters in Hartlepool and also has offices in Newcastle and Sheffield.
It has backed the Mail’s Best of Hartlepool Awards for a number of years and now it has come on board once again as the headline sponsor.
The annual awards look to recognise the achievements of people in the town and those who go above and beyond to make a difference in their communities.
Backing the awards, Darren Sutherland, chief executive at Utility Alliance, said: “We have sponsored various local causes over the last few years and to be in a position to be able to give something back to the community is something that as a company we are extremely proud of.
“We work with businesses across the whole of the country, and while we have other offices in Newcastle and Sheffield, Hartlepool is where our headquarters are and we are committed to the town.
“We started the business in Hartlepool back in 2015 and it has been a fantastic journey to get to the size we are now.
“We have been involved with the Best of Hartlepool awards in the past when we have sponsored individual categories, but when we were approached to see if we’d be interested in being the headline sponsor we jumped at the opportunity.”
Judges have now drawn up a shortlist of outstanding people who are in line for honours and the awards evening itself will be held at the Hardwick Hall on Wednesday, December 4.
Mr Sutherland continued: “This is one night of the year where all of the success stories in Hartlepool, from all walks of life, gather under one roof to be recognised and it is always very humbling to listen to some of the stories from the different categories.
“There is a lot to be proud of in Hartlepool, and it is only right that is celebrated.”
