YOUNG visitors at a military museum were treated to a visit from two of their favourite cartoon characters.
TV favourite Peppa Pig and her brother George joined in the half-term fun at the Heugh Gun Battery and Museum, on Hartlepool’s Headland.
Around 40 youngsters per session, aged three to five, met the loveable characters over various days last week.
John Southcott, chairman of the battery and museum, said: “The children loved it. “A lot of them were giving Peppa hugs and playing games with her.”
Mr Southcott said Peppa and George’s visit had helped to boost visitor numbers of the school holidays.
He added: “The kids really enjoyed it.
“I think it’s fair to say Peppa will make a return to Hartlepool.
“Peppa thought the week was great and so did George.
“It’s been absolutely lovely and the weather has been kind to us. “So many people came to the Headland to go for walks and pop in and see us - it was great to see.”
